This group collects the Life Sciences subcategory's members whose defining work concerns physiology and medicine: how living bodies function, and the physicians and medical researchers whose discoveries about disease, treatment and the body's own systems shaped the life sciences. It is kept apart from Microbiology, whose members study the microorganisms that cause disease rather than the body's own systems and their treatment.
