Lise Menn

Lise Menn is an American linguist born December 28, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and professor emerita of linguistics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she taught from 1986 until her retirement in 2007. Her research addresses psycholinguistics, particularly language acquisition and what happens to language ability when adults lose it through conditions such as aphasia, using empiricist, data-driven methods across multiple languages; she co-authored or edited nine books and more than fifty peer-reviewed articles on phonological development and agrammatic aphasia. She was inducted as a fellow of the Linguistic Society of America in 2006 and elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2014, and served on the governing committees of the Academy of Aphasia and the Linguistic Society of America.
