Prizes and Awards

Prizes, medals and awards a scientific body confers for achievement rather than institutions that themselves conduct or teach science: the Nobel Prize, the Fields Medal, the Turing Award, the Abel Prize, the Breakthrough Prize, the Copley Medal, the IEEE Medal of Honor, the Kyoto Prize, the Lasker Award and the Wolf Prize. Grouped separately from the learned societies that administer some of them, because the prize itself, not its administering body, is what this atlas's institution entities of this kind actually record.
