Astronomy

Scientists whose most historically significant work is in astronomy: the observation and study of celestial objects, their motions, and the structure of the universe, including astrophysics and cosmology. Does not include physicists whose primary legacy is a general physical theory later applied to astronomical objects by others; it does include a physicist whose own most significant discovery was itself an astronomical one.
