Nuclear Physics

This group collects the Physics subcategory's members whose defining work concerns the atomic nucleus itself: nuclear structure, radioactivity, nuclear fission and fusion, and the reactors, accelerators and weapons programs built to study or apply them. It sits apart from this subcategory's Particle And High-Energy Physics group, whose members study particles smaller than the nucleus and the fundamental forces between them, even though the two fields share instruments, laboratories and often the same physicists earlier in a career that later moved toward one field or the other.
