John Charles Polanyi is a German-born Canadian chemist who was awarded a share of the 1986 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his research into the dynamics of chemical reactions. His work in chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics helped reveal how energy is distributed among the products of a chemical reaction.
