George Pearson Smith (born 10 March 1941) is an American biologist and Nobel laureate, Curators' Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri. He is best known for phage display, first described in 1985, and was awarded the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for this work, sharing his prize with Gregory Winter and Frances Arnold.
