Sasanka Chandra Bhattacharyya was an Indian natural product chemist who served as director of the Bose Institute in Kolkata. He was known for his research on the structures and configurations of terpenoids and for his work on the synthesis of vetiver oil and natural musk compounds. He served as vice-president of the Indian National Science Academy and was an elected fellow of that academy as well as the Indian Academy of Sciences. In 1962 he received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology for his contributions to the chemical sciences.
