David Allara is an American chemist affiliated with Pennsylvania State University. He shared the 2022 Kavli Prize in Nanoscience with Jacob Sagiv, Ralph Nuzzo and George M. Whitesides for pioneering work on self-assembled monolayers, molecular coatings that control surface properties on solid substrates.
