Peter Agre is an American physician and molecular biologist who shared the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Roderick MacKinnon for discoveries concerning channels in cell membranes, specifically his discovery of aquaporins, the water channels that regulate water flow across cell membranes.
