Susmita Bose is an Indian-American scientist and engineer born in Ranaghat, West Bengal, who holds the Herman and Brita Lindholm Endowed Chair Professorship in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington State University. Her research focuses on three-dimensional printing of bone implants, developing biocompatible ceramic scaffolds strengthened with silica and zinc oxide for bone tissue engineering and drug delivery. She received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2004 and was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Materials Research Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Academy of Inventors.
