Suzanne Mahlburg Kay is an American geologist, the William and Katherine Snee Professor of Geological Sciences at Cornell University, whose research examines the origin and evolution of continental crust through the connections between regional tectonics and magmatic processes, with particular focus on the Andean crust of central and southern South America and mid-Tertiary magmatic rocks in subduction zones. She served as president of the Geological Society of America from 2013 to 2014, was elected to the National Academy of Sciences of Argentina in 2015, and received the Outstanding Educator Award of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 2007. She received the Penrose Medal in 2023.
