John Andrew Peacock is a British cosmologist, astronomer and academic born March 27, 1956, Professor of Cosmology at the University of Edinburgh since 1998, specializing in the large scale structure of galaxies. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, elected 2006, and a Fellow of the Royal Society, elected 2007, and he shared the 2014 Shaw Prize in Astronomy with Daniel Eisenstein and Shaun Cole.
