Pramatha Nath Bose was an Indian geologist and among the first Indians to serve in the Geological Survey of India. His geological surveys identified the iron ore deposits at Rajhara in central India that led directly to the founding of the Tata Iron and Steel Company, and his broader work helped establish the study of economic geology in India.
