Raymond A. Price

Raymond A. Price was a Canadian geologist who lived from 1933 to 2024, specializing in structural geology and tectonics, who worked at the Geological Survey of Canada, served as associate professor and department head at Queen own University from 1968 to 1977, and led the International Lithosphere Program from 1980 to 1985, known for structural geology and tectonic mapping of the southern Canadian Rocky Mountains that provided new insight into the evolution of the Cordilleran foreland thrust and fold belt. He also researched nuclear waste disposal and global climate change, received the Logan Medal, the R.J.W. Douglas Medal and the Massey Medal in 2010, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2003. He received the Penrose Medal in 2012.
