Duncan Ross Lorimer is a British-born American astrophysicist born May 9, 1969, professor of physics and astronomy at West Virginia University. He gained prominence for discovering the first fast radio burst in 2007 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society. He shared the 2023 Shaw Prize in Astronomy with Matthew Bailes and Maura McLaughlin.
