Robert H. Grubbs was an American chemist and professor of chemistry at the California Institute of Technology. He shared the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Yves Chauvin and Richard R. Schrock for his work on olefin metathesis, and he co-founded Materia, a university spin-off producing catalysts for that reaction.
