Sir Lazarus Fletcher was a British mineralogist born March 3, 1854, who died January 6, 1921, and who served as Keeper of Mineralogy at the Natural History Museum in London from 1880 to 1909 and as director of the Natural History Museum from 1909 to 1919. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1889, was knighted in 1916, and received the Wollaston Medal from the Geological Society in 1912.
