Ibn al-Yasamin was a Maghrebi mathematician of Berber origin, active in Fez and Seville, who died in 1204. He is known for his contributions to algebra and for composing mnemonic verse treatises that helped spread the use of Ghubar numerals, the North African ancestor of the modern Arabic numeral forms, alongside a parallel career in poetry and law.
