Atomic, Molecular And Optical Physics

This group collects the Physics subcategory's members whose work concerns individual atoms, molecules and light: optics, lasers, spectroscopy, interferometry, atomic physics and the x-ray and photon experiments that probe matter at this scale. It is kept apart from Condensed Matter Physics, whose members study the collective behavior of matter in bulk rather than individual atoms or molecules, and from Quantum Physics And Quantum Information, whose members work on the general theoretical framework rather than a specific optical or atomic technique.
