This group collects the Chemistry subcategory's members whose defining work concerns biochemistry: enzymes, proteins, nucleic acids and the chemical processes inside living cells, spanning the classical biochemists who mapped metabolic pathways to the modern structural biologists who solved protein structures by crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy. It is kept apart from this atlas's separate Life Sciences subcategory, whose members work primarily as biologists rather than as chemists studying biological molecules.
