This group collects the Astronomy subcategory's members whose defining work concerns cosmology: the origin, expansion and large-scale structure of the universe, dark energy and the cosmic microwave background, from the founders of the expanding-universe model to the modern observational cosmologists who measured the universe's accelerating expansion. It is kept apart from Galactic And Extragalactic Astronomy, whose members study individual galaxies rather than the universe's overall structure and history.
