Param Nath Bhaduri

Param Nath Bhaduri (1908-1992) was an Indian botanist and agricultural scientist whose research centered on plant cytogenetics and rhizobium biology. He earned a doctorate from the University of London in 1939, developed the nucleolus differential staining method for studying plant cell reproduction, and led the department of botany at the University of Calcutta before becoming a senior professor and vice-chancellor at Burdwan University. He later worked as an emeritus scientist with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, received the Paul Johannes Bruhl Memorial Medal from the Asiatic Society, and held a fellowship of the Royal Horticultural Society of London.
