This group collects the Earth Sciences subcategory's members whose defining work concerns mineralogy and petrology: the identification, classification and formation of minerals and rocks, and the crystallography that underlies both. It is kept apart from Geologists, whose members work at the scale of formations and structures rather than the mineral and rock composition those formations are made of.
