Phonology And Phonetics

This group collects the Linguistics subcategory's members whose defining work concerns phonology and phonetics: the sounds of language, sound systems and the physical production of speech, from the founders of modern phonetic transcription to the phonologists who mapped how sound systems are organized. It is kept apart from Syntax And Generative Grammar, whose members study sentence structure rather than sound.
