Probability And Statistics

This group collects the Mathematics subcategory's members whose defining work concerns probability and statistics: chance, random processes, data analysis and statistical inference, from the founders of probability theory to the modern statisticians who built the methods used across every empirical science. It is kept apart from Applied Mathematics, whose members apply mathematics to physical or engineering problems generally rather than to probability and statistical inference specifically.
