Syntax And Generative Grammar

This group collects the Linguistics subcategory's members whose defining work concerns syntax and grammar: sentence structure, generative grammar and the formal rules by which languages combine words, from the earliest grammarians to the founders of generative linguistics and their successors. It is the subcategory's largest group alongside Phonology And Phonetics, kept apart from Semantics And Pragmatics, whose members study meaning rather than sentence structure.
