Gopal Chandra Bhattacharya was an Indian entomologist and naturalist who spent most of his career at the Bose Institute in Kolkata, despite having no formal college degree. The University of Calcutta awarded him an honorary Doctor of Science degree in 1981, months before his death, and he separately received the Ananda Puraskar in 1968 and the Rabindra Puraskar in 1975 for Bengali literature.
