Hassan Suhrawardy, known formally as Lieutenant-Colonel Hassan Suhrawardy CStJ FRCS, was a Bengali surgeon, military officer in the British Indian Army, politician, and public official. He served as chairman of the executive committee of the East London Mosque and was knighted in 1932, renouncing his British honours a month before his death.
