Martin Hairer

Sir Martin Hairer is an Austrian-British mathematician and mathematical physicist who works in stochastic analysis, particularly stochastic partial differential equations. He is Professor of Mathematics at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne and at Imperial College London, having previously held positions at the University of Warwick and the Courant Institute of New York University. He was awarded the Fields Medal in 2014 and, announced in 2020, the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics.
