Simon David Manton White is a British-German astrophysicist born September 30, 1951, who was a director at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics until his retirement in late 2019. The Navarro-Frenk-White profile used to describe the distribution of dark matter is named in part after him. He received the 2017 Shaw Prize in Astronomy.
