Barada Charan Gupta

Barada Charan Gupta was a Bengali geologist and writer from colonial India. He worked with the Geological Survey of India, conducting field surveys for mineral resources across the country. He was also a member of the influential Sabujpatra literary group and contributed to the journal Sabujpatra between 1922 and 1927, promoting standard colloquial Bengali as a literary language; his writings were later collected in Shashwata Tarun, with an introduction by Pramatha Chowdhury and a foreword by Rabindranath Tagore. He died on December 20, 1955, at the age of 62.
