Samaresh Bhattacharya

Samaresh Bhattacharya is an Indian inorganic and organometallic chemist and a professor in the department of chemistry at Jadavpur University, where he also serves as dean of the faculty of science. He is known for his research on coordination compounds of platinum group metals and their use in activating organic molecules. He is an elected fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology, and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology for his contributions to the chemical sciences.
