Geraldine Richmond (born 1953) is an American physical chemist on the faculty of the University of Oregon since 1985, specializing in the chemistry and physics of complex surfaces and interfaces studied with laser-based spectroscopy, with applications to energy production, atmospheric chemistry and environmental remediation. She has also been a prominent advocate for women in science, served as president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in 2016, and was Under Secretary of Energy for Science at the U.S. Department of Energy from 2021 to 2025. She received the National Medal of Science in 2013 and the Priestley Medal in 2018.
