Harald Rose was a German physicist specializing in electron microscopy, who lived from 1935 to 2026, recognized for developing aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy, a technique enabling high-resolution visualization of atomic structures. He received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Basic Sciences in 2013, shared with Maximilian Haider and Knut Urban, and the Kavli Prize in Nanoscience in 2020, shared with Haider, Urban and Ondrej Krivanek. He received the Wolf Prize in Physics in 2011, shared with Haider and Urban.
