Brian David Josephson, born in 1940, is a British theoretical physicist and emeritus professor at the University of Cambridge. He won the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physics, at the age of 33, for his theoretical prediction of the properties of a supercurrent flowing through a tunnel barrier, phenomena now known as the Josephson effects.
