Pablo Jarillo-Herrero

Pablo Jarillo-Herrero is a Spanish physicist, born in 1976, recognized for discovering that when two graphene sheets are twisted by an angle close to a magic angle, the resulting structure exhibits electrically tunable superconductivity without an applied magnetic field, a breakthrough transformative for studying strongly correlated physics through graphene moire superlattices. He is the Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Physics at MIT. He received the Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Prize in 2020 and the Kavli Prize in Nanoscience in 2026. He received the Wolf Prize in Physics in 2020, shared with Rafi Bistritzer and Allan MacDonald.
