Rollan Kemalevich Kadyev (1937-1990) was a Soviet physicist of Crimean Tatar descent who worked as a docent at Samarkand State University, researching gravitation and relativity theory. He published his findings in the Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics and presented work at the Fifth International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation in Tbilisi in 1968. Kadyev was also a leading figure in the Crimean Tatar civil rights movement and was imprisoned twice by Soviet authorities for his activism on behalf of his exiled people.
