Raymond Neil Wilson was an English physicist and telescope optics designer who lived from 1928 to 2018, best known for pioneering the use of active optics in large telescopes. He shared the 2010 Kavli Prize for Astrophysics, with Jerry Nelson and Roger Angel, for their contributions to the development of giant telescopes.
