Shuji Nakamura (born May 22, 1954) is a Japanese-American electronics engineer and co-inventor of the blue LED, a major breakthrough in lighting technology. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014 together with Isamu Akasaki and Hiroshi Amano.
