Ashoke Sen

Ashoke Sen is an Indian theoretical physicist whose main area of work is string theory. He has held positions including ICTS-Infosys Madhava Chair Professor at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences in Bangalore, distinguished professor at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute in Prayagraj, and visiting posts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Korea Institute for Advanced Study. He was among the first recipients of the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, awarded for opening the path to the realization that all string theories are different limits of the same underlying theory.
