John B. Fenn was an American analytical chemist awarded a share of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, jointly with Koichi Tanaka and Kurt Wuthrich, for developing methods to identify and analyze biological macromolecules, specifically electrospray ionization for mass spectrometry of large molecules.
