Hemendranath Tagore

Hemendranath Tagore was a member of the prominent Bengali Tagore family who conducted some of the earliest recorded experiments with radio waves and electromagnetic propagation, beginning in 1867. In 1874 he compiled Prakritik Vijnaner Sthulamarma, believed to be the first scholarly physics text written in an Asian language. Alongside this scientific work he was active in the Brahmo religious movement founded by his father Debendranath Tagore, and he later developed the philosophy that became the Adi Dharm religion.
