Sin-Itiro Tomonaga

Sin-Itiro Tomonaga was a Japanese theoretical physicist. He carried out fundamental work in quantum electrodynamics, including a renormalization method that removed troublesome infinite quantities from the theory's calculations, work with far-reaching consequences for the physics of elementary particles. He shared the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics with Richard Feynman and Julian Schwinger for this work.
