Aaron Klug

Chemistry

Sir Aaron Klug was a British biophysicist and chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1982 for developing crystallographic electron microscopy and using it to work out the structure of biologically important nucleic acid protein complexes. His techniques let scientists see the detailed architecture of viruses and of chromatin, the material that packages DNA inside a cell.
