Peter Zoller is an Austrian theoretical physicist, born in 1952, recognized for pioneering contributions to quantum computing, quantum simulation and quantum communication, particularly the Cirac-Zoller controlled-NOT gate, trapped ion quantum computers, quantum repeaters and quantum tomography. He is emeritus professor at the University of Innsbruck and has been scientific director at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information since 2003. He received the Max Planck Medal in 2005, the Dirac Medal in 2006, the Benjamin Franklin Medal in Physics in 2010 and the John Stewart Bell Prize in 2019. He received the Wolf Prize in Physics in 2013, shared with Juan Ignacio Cirac. He is also live on this family own computing atlas as a pioneer entity for the same quantum computing work, a legitimate width mint of the same historically significant figure rather than a duplication.
