Biodiversity

Life Sciences

Biodiversity is the totality of genes, species and ecosystems found within a region, encompassing genetic variability within a species, the variety of species themselves, and the diversity of ecosystems across a landscape. It is used across ecology as a broader, more encompassing measure than the older terms species diversity and species richness.
