Astronomy

This subcategory gathers theories belonging to astronomy: the models describing the structure, origin and evolution of celestial bodies and the universe as a whole, including cosmological models of the universe's origin and expansion, theories of planetary and solar-system formation, and the historical shift from an Earth-centered to a Sun-centered model of the solar system. A theory placed here explains an astronomical or cosmological phenomenon, distinct from the underlying physics or chemistry a given astronomical theory may also draw on.
