Utrecht University is a public research university in the Netherlands, founded in 1636. Christophorus Buys Ballot, the meteorologist, worked there, and the university has strong programs in physics, geosciences, chemistry and the life sciences. It teaches and does research across the natural sciences, medicine and the humanities. The atlas links scientists to it where their cited articles say they studied, taught or carried out research there, in any of its faculties, institutes or laboratories.
