The University of Graz, formally the Karl-Franzens University, is a public research university in Graz, Austria, founded in 1585 by Archduke Charles II. Erwin Schrödinger, Otto Loewi and Victor Hess held posts there, and the university is known for physics, chemistry and the life sciences.
